Project management and administration of European Research and Innovation projects
The Research and Innovation office (RIO) at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is looking for a project manager with competence, experience and interest in the management and administration of large European research and innovation projects.
Job description
The position’s core is the support of and collaboration with scientific project owners (PI) of large and complex European research and innovation consortia. Your task will be to facilitate optimal consortium cooperation, monitor progress, and manage the project incl. deviations from the plan together with the scientific project lead. The position is thus a mix between acting as the PI’s right-hand person, as well as interacting with other units at SDU, the project partners and stakeholders incl. the grantor (typically the European Commission) on behalf of the project.
Initially, you will be responsible for one project. Later, two or more projects can be supported simultaneously, depending on the project and consortium size. The first concrete task is project management of a project within the healthcare domain coordinated by SDU and Odense University Hospital. As the duration of this project is 54 months, the position is advertised with a fixed-term employment contract for 55 months, to allow one month extra for onboarding before project kick-off. Within the duration of the employment, SDU is expected to receive more EU grants with project management needs, providing a good chance for extension of the employment.
Your profile
We are looking for a self-motivated colleague experienced in project management and administration of large research and innovation consortia, preferably European projects. Applicants are expected to have a structured approach to task-solving and to thrive with being responsible for efficient and high-quality administrative support and proactive project management. Interpersonal, intercultural, communication and self-management skills are also vital.
The SDU RIO offer
The right candidate will get a motivating job with ample personal development potential in SDU RIO, a central support unit at SDU characterised by ambition, commitment, and an informal and flexible working environment. The position is anchored in the Research Support team. Here you will collaborate especially with an experienced project management colleague, both during onboarding and later when the project management concept may be developed further.
