Programme Coordinator for BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme
The Office of Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, is looking to recruit a programme coordinator for a fixed term position until 31st August 2025. The position is to manage the postdoctoral training programme ‘BRIDGE’ at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
About the programme
The BRIDGE programme is a strategic initiative at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The programme is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) and aims to strengthen translational research in Denmark. The programme trains and educates outstanding young scientists in disciplines necessary to drive translational research at the highest level with mentors representing basic biomedical and clinical fields.
The programme is managed by a Programme Chair and an Educational Co-Chair advised by a scientific committee, an educational committee and an international advisory board. The programme administration consists of a coordinator and an administrator and is located in the Office of Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
About the Office of Research and Innovation
The Office of Research and Innovation is a well-functioning office with 45 employees. The position is based in the research support section. In the Office of Research and Innovation, we work closely with the faculty management, departments and with individual researchers. We value being known as a service-oriented, efficient and competent administration.
Programme Coordinator
As programme coordinator, you will work in close collaboration with the programme administrator to ensure the smooth implementation of the programme. You will drive the implementation of the programme and in close collaboration with the academic leadership, ensure the continued development of the programme. This includes expanding collaboration with life science industry, establishing a mentor platform and exploring future prospects for the programme when the current funding expires in 2025.
Your tasks:
- Drive the further development of the programme including to manage the process for a reapplication to the Novo Nordisk Foundation
- Manage a successful process for the annual admissions and recruitment process for fellows in collaboration with the HR unit
- Strategic support to the Programme Management, the Scientific Committee and the International Advisory Board
- Contact with fellows and mentors during admissions process, employment period and graduation
- Monitoring of fellow progress together with the Student Affairs Section
- Support the development of the programme’s academic curriculum together with the Student Affairs Section and others
- Play a key role in organising committee and board meetings, symposia, boot camps and workshops
- Ensure the administration of the NNF grant together with the Finance Section
- Ensure that the annual reporting to the NNF is delivered on time and to a high standard
- Assist to further develop programme activities and explore options for the when the current funding runs out
Your profile:
- Excellent coordination, planning and organisational skills with the ability to develop, plan, and implement goals to meet tight deadlines under time pressure
- Experience in grant management and project administration from a university or a grant provider
- Ability to handle many short- and long-term tasks simultaneously
- Ability to write in a clear, concise and engaging way for a variety of target audiences with a high level of accuracy in Danish and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues on all levels within and outside the organisation
- An academic degree in a relevant field
- Knowledge of the healthcare and life science industry sectors in Denmark
- Previous experience with working in an academic administrative setting will be an advantage.

Terms of employment
The expected start date is 1 July 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter, and the position is for a limited period until 31st August 2025. The position is advertised at the level of senior consultant (specialkonsulent) for 37 hours per week. Salary, terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
