New Scientific Management Assistant for the LEO Foundation
We are looking for a Senior Administrative Officer who will help develop and strengthen our growing philanthropic activities, and who would like to join us on our mission to pave the way for curing skin diseases.
At the LEO Foundation, we have high ambitions for our philanthropic grant activities and expect to double our funding to more than DKK 500 million a year by 2030. In support of this development, we now want to expand and complement the grant team with a Senior Administrative Officer.
The LEO Foundation is one of the largest private funders globally of independent skin research and provides philanthropic grants to support skin research of the highest quality that transforms our understanding of the skin, skin diseases and skin health. We also support activities that catalyze a strong and thriving ecosystem in and around skin and skin disease research, and we provide grants for education and awareness activities that strengthen the talent base for the next generation of researchers.
In our office in Nordhavn in Copenhagen, we are a relatively small organization with 15 employees. Your key responsibilities
As a Scientific Management Assistant, you will be a key player in assuring high-quality administrative support to your colleagues at the LEO Foundation. You will be an integral part of an active grant team of 5, and expected to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to the team’s collective efforts. You will report to the Chief Scientific Officer, Anne-Marie Engel.
Your key responsibilities will be focused on ensuring maintenance and development of efficient and seamless administrative processes related to the operations of the grant team. Tasks related to management and board service will be carried out in close collaboration with your colleagues.
We expect that your tasks and responsibilities will develop as the Foundation develops and expands its philanthropic activities.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Performing pre-assessment administrative checks on submitted applications to assess their eligibility before expert review
- Ensuring smooth financial flow/operations of financial reporting for ongoing grants
- Participating in ad-hoc mini-teams on various project tasks, for instance preparation of manuals for recipients and administrators of LEO Foundation grants and updates or revisions of internal processes and procedures
- Drafting presentations for Grant Committee and the Board of Trustees meetings
- Leading the compilation of input for the management report
- Maintaining an overview and updating standard presentations that the grant team can use in meetings with stakeholders and in other settings
- Managing the common calendar for the Grant Committee
- Overseeing and coordinating relevant annual planning wheels
- Providing backup and assistance with other secretarial tasks We are a small team that works closely together and supports each other wherever needed
In addition, you may be asked to attend relevant conferences, meetings, and networking opportunities in Denmark and internationally.
Your background and qualifications
Professional qualifications
- Proven experience in working with complex administrative systems
- Experience in supporting management and board operations
- Excellent IT-skills
- Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
