INORMS More Than Our Rank initiative launched
Sign More Than Our Rank (MTOR) before 28 February and be designated as Early Adopters and showcased on the MTOR webpage
The INORMS Research Evaluation Group’s More Than Our Rank initiative was launched on 17 October 2022. It is an opportunity for all academic institutions, whether ranked or unranked, top 10 or yet to place, to highlight the many and various ways they serve the world that are not reflected in their global ranking position.
By participating in the More Than Our Rank initiative, academic institutions are demonstrating a commitment to responsible assessment and acknowledging a broader and more diverse definition of institutional success.
The initiative has raised a lot of global interest and we are delighted to have the support of a range of international organisations including the Latin American Forum on Scientific Evaluation (CLACSO FOLEC), CWTS Leiden, the San Francisco Declaration On Research Assessment (DORA), the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU), the European Universities Association (EUA), Emerald Publishing, HuMetricsHSS, Science Europe, the UK Forum for Responsible Research Metrics and U-Multirank.
A number of pioneering institutions have already signed up as early adopters: Izmir Institute of Technology, Keele University, Loughborough University, Queensland University of Technology and Unity Health Toronto. You can find their inspiring MTOR statements from the More Than Our Rank webpage: https://lnkd.in/e9C_fieP.
There is no fee to participate in this global initiative, all you need to do is sign up through our More Than Our Rank web page, add the MTOR logo to your web page and post a statement highlighting how your institution is so much more than its rank by promoting institutional activities, achievements or ambitions that are not adequately captured by university rankings. All those signing before 28 February will be designated as Early Adopters and showcased on the MTOR webpage.
Now is the time to say that every institution is much more than their rank, so we would be very pleased if you were able to promote this initiative within your organisation and join the network of institutions seeking to redefine how universities are assessed.
