  • Online

VICRA is a 3-day-long, on-line live event for early to mid-career research administrators to be held in the waking hours in four continents, from the East Atlantic to the West Pacific shores, covering half the globe.

To allow registrants to attend within their wake hours, the convention will take place from 9AM to 1PM in the Coordinated Universal Time Zone. This will make the start time 9AM in London and 8PM in Sydney.

We have chosen this schedule to facilitate learning, while participants still can complete daily professional responsibilities. They will have access to recordings of the sessions for six months.

The convention will comprise a stimulating mix of instructive webinars and interactive workshops focused on professional development, supported by personal devel-pment sessions to nurture the talents and potential of attendees and to facilitate worldwide employability.

The program will cover the four required and three elective sessions for SRAI’s Introduction to Research Administration and Management (IRAM) certificate. The workshop required for this certificate will take place in two four-hour sittings in the two days ahead of VICRA.

The four goals of VICRA are:

  1. To support and coach early (and mid-) career research administrators in countries that do not feature a na-tional umbrella organization;
  2. To cater for research administrators who normally don’t attend overseas conferences;
  3. To encourage international mentorships; and
  4. To establish a biannual event for existing and new members of the Society for Research Administrators International (SRAI).

Four hours per day with four concurrent sessions over three days, with a stimulating keynote to start each day: three plenaries plus 36 presentations and/or workshops in seven streams.

The Seven Streams

  1. Research Administration as a Profession
  2. Understanding Research and Researchers
  3. Accessibility and Pitfalls of International Funding
  4. Research Integrity - Responsible Conduct of Research
  5. Personal Development
  6. From Networking to Collaboration
  7. Innovation to Research Impact

We have created low-priced packages to accommodate the tightest of budgets.

The standard rate for the full convention will be $299, plus annual membership of $220 for SRAI non-members. Institutional Package: When three or more staff from the same institution register, their SRAI membership fees will be waived.

Tickets sales will start early September. The Early Bird price (until December 15) is set at $224 with the same Institutional Package for non-members. This makes the price for three Early Birds at the same institution $672.
