Administrative Research Coordinator. DTU Aqua

National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) invites applications for the post of Administrative Research Coordinator within the Research Secretariat of the Institute.  The Research Secretariat is a team of four that assists with strategic, administrative and management issues in relation to external research funding at the institute. The institute participates in, and coordinates national and EU projects within aquaculture and fisheries research as well as basic marine science.

As member of the research secretariat team the candidate will in collaboration with the other team members and other administrative functions

  • Assist scientific coordinators in applying for and managing externally financed national and EU projects, including keeping the overview of the process and adherence to application formats, communicating with project partners on administrative issues (pre- and post- grant), participating in meetings and assisting with reporting and budget follow-ups for large research projects, and preparing the budget for EU projects in collaboration with the project economist and contracts in collaboration with the legal office at DTU.
  • Assist with fundraising for research infrastructures
  • Facilitate collaboration with DTU legal office on commercial activities
  • Assist the DTU Aqua Research Committee in coordinating and developing research strategies and priorities, and collaborative initiatives across the institute and with other DTU institutes. 
  • Communicate with funding agencies (e.g. the EU Commission, ministries and Research councils) about strategic focus areas, and assist in preparing inputs for national and international research strategies.
  • Keep informed about funding programmes and assist in disseminating this information in the institute.
  • Be involved in the development of the Research Secretariat with regard to optimizing services to the institute.


  • A relevant education at min. MSc level
  • Extensive experience in pre- and post- grant assistance to scientists; specifically routine in assisting in making applications to and administrating projects within the EC Framework is required. Experience with other national and international funding agencies an advantage.
  • Experiences with international project management and formal qualifications in project management an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to facility collaboration as well as take responsibility and manage multiple projects and activities in a structured way.  Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Working with attention to detail and following work through to completion.
  • Fluency in English and in Danish.

Salary and conditions of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

We offer a position with flexible working hours (flex time agreement) and an international and informal working environment.

Place of work will be at the National Institute of Aquatic Resources, The Research Secretariat, Charlottenlund Castle, Charlottenlund, Denmark.
